If you watch the "Birth of a Medium" and the May 2007 iPhone issue of the Ries Report, you'll notice an inconsistency. The old iPhone issue advocated against convergence, whereas the Birth of a Medium predicates a convergence of a MobiPhone: with GPS, scanner and voice recognition.

Convergence and divergence are big concepts in both the Reality and Perception. They both tend to diverge due to limitations of our understanding, technology and the current social norm. They both also tend to converge for exactly the same reasons.

Don't get me wrong. I love the Ries report, especially because it gets you thinking and pondering.

I'd love to hear you reviewing the concepts of divergence vs. convergence, and the iPhone again.

Wow! I think Al Ries is a most insightful in the cell phone market.
I think his idea about new category of cell phone(The mobiphone)would be apply to the South Korea.
